Bully by Andrew Paavola

Bully is a comic strip expressed entirely by images, starring Bully, a surly bulldog who keeps his brains in his stomach. Also in attendance is Bully’s human, Bob the cartoonist. The two make a lopsided pair as Bully attempts to conquer everything in his path, while Bob tries desperately to wrangle Bully to pose for his daily comic strip of which he is the main character.

Born on the West Coast and raised in Alaska, Bully creator Andrew Paavola somehow ended up in the middle of Ohio, where he now lives with his wife, son and three cats. Drawing since he could pick up a pencil, Andrew enjoys telling stories through comic strips, creating one-of-a-kind pieces of illustrated art and doodling on every scrap piece of paper he can find, including receipts.

Little Fried Chicken and Sushi documents main character Karl’s move to Japan. When he finds a magical raccoon spirit, fitting into a new life becomes even more challenging.  Join the adventure as we discover that while living in Japan isn’t always easy, it sure can be fun!

Khalid Birdsong previously lived in Osaka, Japan, for two years, where he taught English, and returns to the country once a year to visit his wife’s family. He enjoys reading, watching animation, traveling and spending time with family. If Birdsong ever goes missing, you’ll probably find him hiding somewhere drawing comics and eating chocolate chip cookies.

Random Acts of Nancy by Guy Gilchrist and John Lotshaw

In the 81-plus years that Ernie Bushmiller's Nancy and her pals have been cavorting around the funny papers, there have been many surreal, bizarre, manic, unexplainable panels of fun! Each day, Random Acts of Nancy brings you one of those moments. If you are dazed, confused and don't have any clue why and how you are being entertained … You are now a true Nancy fan.

For Guy Gilchrist, creativity is an ever-expanding circle. A cartoonist, poet, author, musician and storyteller, Guy is known first and foremost for his work as writer and illustrator for the classic newspaper cartoon Nancy. His other strips have included Jim Henson’s Muppets, which helped launch his career at age 24, as well as Your Angels Speak, Screams, Night Lights & Pillow Fights and Today’s Dogg. He is the author of more than 50 children's books, and was part of the creative team behind The Muppet Babies, Fraggles and Little Muppet Monsters.

Among his many awards, Guy received the prestigious National Cartoonists Society Reuben Category Award as Best Book/Magazine Illustrator twice, and has won three Children’s Choice Best Book Awards from the National and International Reading Councils and The United Nations. His work has been displayed in the Smithsonian Institute, and his charitable activities have earned him an invitation as a guest of honor at the White House. Guy was born and raised in Connecticut, and now lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

John Lotshaw is a cartoonist and filmmaker based in Atlanta, Georgia, where he shares a house with three Shetland Sheepdogs. His interest in comics and cartooning is lifelong: One of his earliest memories is of learning to read and draw by copying comics out of the newspaper. While earning a degree in broadcast arts at the University of Georgia, he continued to draw comics, eventually getting published in an entertainment magazine distributed in two states. Later, inspired by the work done by cartoonists on the Internet, he launched his own webcomic, “Accidental Centaurs.” in 2002. This led to eventual membership in the National Cartoonists Society and a fateful encounter with Guy Gilchrist. Presented with the opportunity to work with Guy on his properties, including the iconic “Nancy,” Lotshaw he eagerly accepted and is now honored to be a part of the great legacy and history of Ernie Bushmiller’s creation.
